Sony 360 Spatial Sound technology, specs and new features
Sony’s implementation essentially converts a 2.0 channel signal into a 7.1 channel surround sound experience, as the developers intended. This allows for a more immersive experience that allows gamers to be more competitive by providing clear footsteps and motion detection. Additionally, gamers can customize their spatial sound to suit their ear shape with the “360 Spatial Sound Personaliser” smartphone app for personalized gameplay.
Sony says the new INZONE H9 and H7 headphones feature a diaphragm that’s constructed in a way that allows the headphones to produce high-frequency sound as well as extremely low-frequency sound for enhanced immersion. Additionally, all three headphones have ducts in the housing to facilitate deeper bass.
Of the three models, only the H9 model has noise cancellation and more expensive leather used in the construction, but all three models feature a soft headband and soft ear cushions to allow for long comfortable gaming sessions.
The INZONE H9 contains multiple noise-canceling microphones that block out any background noise. Sony has used the same dual noise sensor technology found in the acclaimed 1000X series headphones.
Using INZONE H7 and H9, gamers can change the volume balance between game audio and voice chat directly from the headset by offering on-screen indication. The INZONE headphones also support the PlayStation 5’s Tempest 3D audio technology. Sony has introduced the INZONE Hub PC software to allow gamers to fine-tune their gaming audio experience.
