Shield Roofing accused of taking money, failing to complete work

The owners of a South Point roofing company have been charged for accepting money to carry out repairs and failing to complete the job.

Jose H. Cabrelas, 42, of South Point, and Jose H. Escobedo, 37, of Orlando, Fla., and their company Shield Roofing and Construction LLC, of ​​South Point, have been charged with third degree theft of a person in a protected class (got $14,528 in cash in April from an elderly couple and didn’t finish the job), fourth-degree robbery from a person in a protected class (got 2 $700 in May from an elderly man and did not complete the job), fifth-degree felony theft (got $4,200 in cash in May from the owner and did not finish the job) and fifth-degree felony theft degree (got $6,786.06 in April and May from a church and didn’t complete the job. )

Shield Roofing and Construction LLC was incorporated into the State of Ohio in November 2012 by Escobedo. Cabrelas’ name was added to the company’s file with the Ohio Secretary of State’s office in February 2016.
