Company plans to give away free electric scooters to mark Onam celebrations in Kerala, details here

Hero electric scooter: The same Munjal family that gave birth to Hero MotoCorp also produced Hero Electric. Dayanand and Munjal Brijmohan Lall’s companies changed their names to Hero MotoCorp and Hero Electric respectively. The two companies now come in different guises and have numerous sub-brands.

EV-only label One of the first Indian manufacturers of 2W electric vehicles is Hero Electric. Hero Electric is currently the top selling 2W electric brand in India, so the sales data also reflects that. Okinawa previously held this position. But the company is now using creative strategies to boost electric vehicle sales.

Free electric scooter as part of the New Hero Electric offer

One of the most popular festivals in Kerala is Onam. Hero Electric has therefore announced that it will offer a free electric scooter to every 100th customer in Kerala to boost sales on this auspicious occasion. Hero Electric is making this offer to signal the start of the festive season in the land of God, Kerala.

Mr. Sohinder Gill, CEO of Hero Electric, commented on the matter saying, “We are committed to accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles in the country and believe that such celebrations are the best time to embrace a shift in mindset, accelerating the adoption of green mobility solutions. In Kerala, Onam reports the start of long, extravagant celebrations, showing an overall upbeat sentiment among customers.

He added that “At Hero, we want to deepen the penetration of electric vehicles by interacting and connecting with our customers to make more inroads in the backcountry. By making a special offer to our customers this Onam, the company is revolutionizing the adoption of electric vehicles all over Kerala.

Hero Electric sold with record 112.01% YoY growth

Hero Electric has surpassed competitors like Ola, Ather, Revolt, Bajaj, TVS, Ampere by Greaves, and even Okinawa, which is considered a heavyweight in this market, when it comes to 2W electric sales. Hero Electric sold 8,953 units in July 2022, up 4,730 from a year earlier and recording 112.01% year-on-year growth. They hold a 22.52% market share in 2W EV and recorded 37.65% MoM sales.
